JBL Synthesis: A Legacy of Cinema Sound Excellence
JBL Synthesis was born out of Hollywood's pursuit of exceptional cinema sound during the 1930s, an era when movie theaters began prioritizing the immersive audio experience. Recognising this shift, JBL entered the scene, driven by the visionary designs of its founder, James B. Lansing. Lansing’s groundbreaking speakers quickly gained recognition for their unparalleled performance.
In 1969, JBL’s expertise took center stage at the iconic Woodstock Music Festival, where their speakers were chosen to deliver pristine sound to the massive audience. This reputation for excellence continued into 1983, when Lucasfilm, in its quest to pioneer THX sound for commercial theaters, selected JBL as its trusted partner.
By 1992, JBL Synthesis had taken this innovation further, introducing the first THX-certified home theater system. Today, JBL Synthesis represents the pinnacle of multi-channel audio systems, offering scalable solutions that range from small, intimate spaces to the grandest private home cinemas.
